- The district and site administration need to
coordinate efforts to design and implement a
program that adheres to the provisions of
EC48430. - Moving forward there should be a focus on
identification, training and implementation of
best instructional practices for at-risk youth. - District and site administration need to ensure
that all available site resources, library,
computer lab, digital projectors, green house,
garden, etc. are properly installed and utilized.

- Students have access to academic courses
necessary to meet graduation requirements - Staff are dedicated to student success and
achievement - The efforts of staff to provide exposure to

- Community partnerships are being developed to
incorporate resources for alternative student
based learning - Work experience students receive school credit
for out of school work programs - A goal is to put in place a technology
infrastructure dependent upon future funding

- It is the intent of the Legislature that
continuation education school and classes shall
be established and maintained to provide all the
following - An opportunity for pupils to complete the
required academic courses - A program of instruction which emphasizes
occupational orientation or work study schedule
and offers intensive guidance services - A program designed to meet the educational
needs of each pupil, including, but not limited
to, independent study, regional occupational
programs, work study, career counseling, and job
placement services as a supplement to classroom
instruction.

Accountability
- Areas to Celebrate
- The adoption and use of Data-Director to analyze
student assessment results - Based on identified student needs, interventions
have been successfully employed which resulted in
an over 90 pass rate on the CAHSEE - Maintained and expanded the special education
services - Employed interventions that have resulted in a
dramatic increase student attendance - Numerous interventions that resulted in dramatic
decreases in the incidents of misbehavior both in
classes and on the campus

- Develop academic and personal interventions to
increase student performance on the CA Standards
Tests - Staff needs to be trained to implement the
district adopted Read 180 - Staff needs in-service and training on strategies

- Active ASB/leadership program to promote the
school spirit and to improve the school
environment - Student are articulate and engaged in expressing
their concerns relating to school environment,
quality/quantity of food, need for elective
courses, vocational classes, availability of
individual contracts, appreciation of staff, and
individualized attention - Relative few incidents of serious behavior
problems - Students welcomed WASC committee
- Positive impact of two campus supervisors on
school environment

- Site administration and staff need to develop,
publish and distribute a student handbook to all
students and parents - Students involved in ASB need to be given a tour
of the future YHS campus and the opportunity to
share observations with other students and
parents - District and site administration and staff must
develop a philosophy, attitude and commitment to
meeting the academic and vocational requirements
for graduation for all their students
