The Vikings

• Vikings began raiding and exploring in the 700s
  and stopped in the 1050s. They came from Britain
  and Ireland between 874 and 930.
• They stole from churches.

Runes

• Vikings didnt like to write, but they left
  behind a lot of writing called runes.
• Runes had 16 letters, and the Vikings believed
  that runes could heal and that they were also
  magic.

Vikings Werent All Raiders

• Not all Vikings were treasure hunters and
  raiders.
• Vikings were the first people from Europe to sail
  to America. One of the countrys Vikings found
  was Iceland, also called the land of fire and
  ice.

Iceland

• Icelanders last names are their dads first name
  and if you were a boy they would add son. If you
  were a girl they add dottir.
• It would only take three College Stations to have
  enough people to fill up Iceland.
• Their language is Icelandic.

Energy and kings

• They have no pollution because they use different
  electricity. It is called geothermal energy. It
  is under ground heat.
• Iceland used to have kings and queens. Now they
  only have presidents.
