    MCAS 2009

    and frequent formative assessments

    teachers aligning the Rubrics with MCAS testing
    measures and focusing on vocabulary.

    state average on multiple choice questions in
    ELA.
  • Our percentages indicate that many students are
    earning a 2 or below on open response questions.
  • All Dedham Middle School students need to score
    12 or more out of 16 points for the four open
    response questions.

Math Targets and Supports
  • A new diagnostic program, Acuity , for
    Mathematics has been purchased for the middle
    school.
  • Teachers in grades 6, 7 8 will administer
    periodic diagnostic tests through the use of
    Acuity .
  • The program will yield data which will allow us
    to target the specific standards in which a
    student needs improvement.

    with the goal of implementing a secondary version
    of Writing With Colors called Light up the
    Problem
