What is Internet?
  • Network - A group of computers linked together
  • LAN (local-area network) - The computers share
    common communications line within a small
    geographic area (for example, an office building)
  • WAN (wide-area network) - The computers are
    farther apart (for example, within a state) and
    are connected by external lines or radio waves
  • Internet - A worldwide network consisting of
    thousands of interconnected networks
