  • Discussing proposals submitted then passing
    resolutions and recommendations

  • The project is focused on Information
    Technologies and E-Commerce as tools for a modern
    development of local Med companies business
    co-operation skills with EU companies.
  • In particular, the project will test in the
    concerned Med country (at CCI and companies
    level) specific experiences and know-how
    developed in Italy (CCI Rome) and France (CCI
    Meurthe et Moselle), related to the use of
    Information Technologies and E-Commerce tools in
    promoting the industrial and commercial
    co-operation.

  • Area of Project Activity
  • One of the most important targets of Europe
    Chambers of Commerce Foreign Trade Departments
    is to support the internationalisation and the
    development of businesses especially for SME
    members of the Chambers. It is a main challenge
    to the Syrian Chambers foreign trade departments
    to explore the potentials

  • for supporting new Syrian producers and
    industries in their way to export to
    EC-countries.
  • Activity of the EC and MEDA Chamber partners is
    designed to achieve a more balanced level of
    markets knowledge and skills

  • A Syrian organised business meeting with Syrian
    entrepreneurs shall follow. EC-partner Chambers
    will offer their services for introducing goods
    to appropriate EC business partners.
  • Second part of the Export desk project will be
    organising two business meetings Syrian
    Business in Rotterdam and in Augsburg/Swabia
    focusing in information about business mentality
    and different intercultural approaches.

Laser CD-ROM
  • The Federation electronic library consists of a
    great number of CD-ROM including information
    about companies and markets in the Arab and
    Foreign countries which can be easily used. The
    Federation periodically attempts to update and
    refresh the electronic library to combine new
    commercial, marketing and statistical information
    serve the trade community.

  • The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce is
    a FOCAL POINT for the Arab Trade Information .
    Through the direct connection with the Arab Trade
    Information Network via (INTERNET) , all
    information related to companies, markets ,
    statistics trade opportunities and trade
    regulations in all Arab countries are accessible.

Trade Information Through Internet
  • The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce
    built its own website on Internet.
  • The site includes information about the Syrian
    Chambers of Commerce, consisting of the Chamber
    logo, address, names of board members, activities
    and missions, information on economic and
    investment regulations , database for investment
    opportunities and data on Syria, time schedules
    on meetings, conferences and the trade economic
    activities. In the near future there will be an
    electronic directory for members companies of the
    Federation.

  • Companies can publish information on their trade
    activities together with the intended approach.
    The Federation Info Center may send this data
    through internet to the headquarters of Arab
    Trade Network to be processes electronically by
    Trade Opportunity Monitoring Programming System
    (TOMS) for matching up the trade demand and
    thereupon a direct contact takes place between
    exporters and importers
