Getting ready forChristmas
  • We count down the days to Christmas on our
    Advent calendar.
  • Each Sunday we light a candle on an Advent
    Wreath.
  • We have a Christmas tree in our house.
  • We decorate the tree with bobbles and ribbons.
  • We put the presents under the tree.
  • We hang up stockings for Santa
  • to fill.

Christmas shopping
  • At Christmas time lots of people go Christmas
    shopping to get gifts for other people.
  • Shops are usually very busy with people getting
    gifts.
  • During Christmas, shops have sales on so people
    usually take advantage of them.

Christmas Eve
  • We put out milk and a biscuit for Santa and a
    carrot for Rudolph.
  • People go around singing Christmas carols.
  • Santa comes down the chimney to put the presents
    under the tree.

Christmas Day
  • Some families go to Church on Christmas Eve but
    many go on Christmas Day.
  • Children get up early with excitement to open
    their presents.
  • A traditional Scottish dinner would be turkey,
    roast potatoes and stuffing.
  • Adults are always busy on Christmas
  • day preparing dinner.

    in a Nativity play.
  • Theatres perform pantomimes such as Peter Pan
    and Aladdin at Christmas.
