  • Has one or more common feature that makes it
    different from surrounding area
  • Based on many things population, income levels,
    rainfall levels, temperature, etc.
  • Physical features (Rocky Mountains)
  • Economic Features (Rust Belt)

  • Made up of different places that are linked
    together and function as a unit
  • Most are organized around a central point and
    surrounding areas are linked to this point
  • Examples cities and shopping malls both serve as
    centers to surrounding areas
  • City transit systems (MARTA)

  • Region that reflect human feelings and attitudes
  • Much of what we view is influenced by our ways of
    life and experiences changes how we perceive
    the world
