3Pager Notifications
To configure your station to forward messages to
pagers, cell phones, and email addresses,
right-click on the EMnet satellite icon, and
select Pager Notifications.
4Logging into Pager Notifications will require a
case-sensitive password.
5- From the Pager Notifications window
- If desired, you can configure EMnet to
automatically forward - some or all messages to
- Pagers
- Cell phones
- Email accounts
- (Any communications medium with an associated
email address)
The email address of most cell phones and pagers
is the number _at_ your service providers
domain Contact your service provider for more
information.
6Click Enable Pager Notifications to begin
configuring your system to forward messages.
7To add an address, click Add
8This will bring up the Add new Email address
dialog.
9Enter the desired email address. Again, this may
be a standard email address, or an address
associated with a pager or cell phone.
Remember that cell phone providers usually charge
for text messaging!
10Press OK when you have entered the first address.
11The address entered will now appear in the list.
Press Add again to add additional addresses, one
at a time.
12If you wish to remove an address, highlight the
address, and hit Remove.
13The domain names of most major service providers
are already set up in the EMnet server. If you
enter an address with a domain name unfamiliar to
the server, you will receive an error. In this
case, notify Comlabs tech support, so that we can
configure the server to send to the desired
domain name.
14Forwarded messages will not include
attachments. Standard email addresses will
receive the full text of forwarded messages.
Messages sent to pagers or cell phones will be
truncated.
Decide what notifications you want forwarded you
may select EAS messages, and/or EMnet messages
by priority.
15If your EMnet computer is unable to send
notification via the internet, the EMnet server
will send the notification. Understand that the
server may not become aware of the problem
immediately.
Receiving notification of system errors means
that a message will be sent for - satellite
downlink errors anything interrupting your
satellite feed, including system problems or
weather - TCP/IP failure anything
interrupting your sites internet
connectivity - computer problems if the
EMnet computer is turned off or stuck at a
login prompt for more than a few minutes, if it
goes into hibernation, or if the EMnet
program is shut down and not reopened
Consider asking for notification of system errors.
16You may want to have a daily test message sent.
This gives you daily confirmation that the system
is working properly.
17Type the text to be forwarded here.
18Be sure the time is entered in 24-hour format.
Type the time the message should be sent.
19Click OK.
20You have now configured your EMnet station to
send pager notifications.
21At any time, you may reopen this dialog and send
a test message.
22Click Test Now.
23This will bring up the Confirm test message
dialog.
24You may type a new test message, if desired
25Or type in any message you wish sent.
Click Send. The test message will be sent almost
immediately.
26You have completed the Pager Notifications
