  • The goals of the LAF
  • 1. Look at the statistics,
  • age, experience, orientation, day of the week,
    supervisor or project
  • Are there trends that can assist you in training
    the field operations?

16
LAF Report Round 1- Goals
  • Take the time to truly analyze the facts
  • utilizing your safety committees for discussion
as to the facts looking for prevention
  • Partnership between claims and safety personnel.
What are the claims saying and how can that be
    used for training
  • Understanding the true costs of the claim, the
    full iceberg effect

17
LAF Report Round 1 - Goals
  • Utilizing the root cause analysis training
  • Learning the true barrier to safe acts and
    safe/profitable jobs
  • Showing your general work force that you do care
and will give all efforts to prevent the
    incidents from being repeated

18
LAF Report Round 1 - Goals
  • Project Life Saver
  • Reduction in costs is truly a reduction in
personal injuries to the greatest commodity of
    any employer
  • Understanding the trends, whatever they may be,
creates a proactive opportunity on a daily basis

19
LAF Report Round.
  • We will produce a quarterly report.
  • The report will be the same - how many did we get
and how well were they done.
  • The trending reports are yours for the asking.
  • You want more detail, tell us.
  • A sample for each ACIG member is available today.

20
LAF Report Round
  • We now have an automated request to remind you of
    the need of the form.
  • This request is triggered when a claim with an
indemnity reserve hits our claims system.
  • When we receive the report we tag the claim.
  • If we do not receive the claim within 30 days, we
    will send a reminder.
  • We are trying to make this easy.

21
LAF Report Round
  • LAFs are valuable when used.
  • If the information requested is given, the future
detail for loss prevention is incredible.
  • It is a tool.
  • ACIG believes it is a viable tool for our goal of
    Project Life Saver.
