If YOU Were Being Interviewed, What would you
say?
  • Planning
  • Tell me how your IPDP was created?
  • What data were used in creating your IPDP?
  • What process is used to review your IPDP?
  • What factors do you consider in determining which
professional development activities in which to
    be involved?
  • To what extent are the professional development
offerings for this school directly related to
    teaching?

8
And what would you say about
  • Delivery
  • Describe the professional development you
received on _________ of your IPDP?
  • How well did the training objectives reflect the
    objectives listed in the IPDP?
  • Generally, to what extent is the content you
    receive through professional development?
  • To what extent did the instructor model the
skills that were to be used?
  • To what extent did your instructor teach the
class using the same techniques and strategies
you are to be using with students?

9
And how about follow up?
  • Describe for me how you have used in your
classroom what you learned in the professional
development. How many times? How many students?
  • Did the instructor or coach or mentor come to
your classroom to help you implement the new
    strategies?
  • How long did the mentoring or coaching last?
  • Have you been offered follow-up assistance after
    professional development through the web?
  • Did you feel you had mastered the new
    skills/training before the coaching/mentoring
    stopped?

10
And finallyEvaluation

    evaluated?
  • Describe the meeting held with your principal to
determine how much of what was written on your
    IPDP has been implemented.
  • How does this school document that you have used
the new skills or knowledge in the classroom?
  • What changes have occurred in student performance
that resulted from the professional development
    you received?
  • What evaluation methods were used to document
changes in student performance resulting from the
    professional development?

11
Last Couple of Notes (from me)
  • What we can do now
  • Choose professional development carefully. This
means sticking to your IPDP areas AND reading the
description of the workshop to make sure it will
help you improve scores in those areas.
  • Fill out the green sheet carefully. (This will
also help you on your salmon colored sheet)
  • If you attend a workshop with someone else from
our school, share ideas and encourage each other
to try using skills, etc. that were taught in the
    workshop.
  • Only fill out front page and part of the back of
the salmon colored sheet at first. Then go back
after implementation and finish filling out
BEFORE sending in to TEC office.
