seeks His will and guidance when exploring and
engaging in external relationships.

6 The Baptist General Association of Virginia was
formed in 1823 as a means for Baptist churches in
Virginia to come together to spread the Gospel of
Jesus Christ and to advance the Redeemers
Kingdom by all methods in accord with the Word of
God.
7 We have no creeds but the Bible,
which we hold as inspired and authoritative.
8We affirm our calling to live in Christ and to
serve on mission for Him. To this end we,
Receive the Holy Scripture as inspired and
authoritative, Proclaim the Good News of Jesus
Christ in word and deed, Encourage rigorous
intellectual inquiry, Uphold justice with
integrity, Exercise mercy with compassion,
Respect all persons as inherently equal before
God, Cherish the freedom with which Christ has
set us free, Love the community of faith and,
Serve redemptively the stranger.
Adopted by the Baptist General Association
of Virginia, November 1995 in annual session.
