The Border Midlands Western (BMW) Region
  • The Region possesses major Tourism potential
    having a largely unspoilt countryside with little
    traffic congestion along with a beautiful Western
    coastline and many mountain ranges.
  • While Tourism generated 692 million euro in 2003,
    expansion still exists and the challenge is to
    lure tourists away from the Honey Pots such as
    Dublin and Cork.
  • The most developed county in the BMW region in
    relation to tourism is Galway the tourism capital
    of the region.

Aims of the Human Resource Development
Mini-Project
  • Through partner cooperation and information
    transfer the FUToURISM project will attempt to
    document "best practice" in the integrated
    management and development of Human Resources.
  • Moy Valley Resources mini-project will focus on
    solving issues relating to language barriers and
    cultural identity within the tourism sector.
