Title: The Theme of the Bible

theme the redemption of mankind from sin
2SIN
- Repent therefore and be converted, that your
sins may be blotted out, so that time of
refreshing may come from the presence of the
Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was
preached to you before, whom heaven must receive
until the times of restoration of all things. .
. - (Acts 319-21a)

make you a great nation I will bless you and

8The Law of Moses
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3
- THE PURPOSE OF RELATIONSHIP TO THE PROMISE TO
ABRAHAM
9The Law of Moses was the Law of God
- These are the statutes and judgments and laws
which the LORD made between Himself and the
children of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of
Moses - did not originate with Moses, but God
- made to ONE nation Israel
- not the church or to any other nation
- delivered by Moses
10Not to Any Other Nation
- He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and
His judgments to Israel. He has not dealt thus
with any nation And as for His judgments, they
have not known them. Praise the LORD (Ps.
14720) - And what great nation is there that has such
statutes and righteous judgments as are in all
this law which I set before you this day? (Deut.
48)
11Wasnt Made Before Moses
- The LORD did not make this covenant with our
fathers, but with us, those who are here today,
all of us who are alive (Deut. 53) - SABBATARIANS ERR IN TEACHING
- this covenant was made at creation
- was made for all nations
- was made for the church
12General Thoughts about the Law
- All Israelites were required to
- know it (Ex. 1816)
- observe it (Deut. 62)
- lay it up in their hearts (Deut. 66)
- remember it (Mal. 44)
- teach their children (Deut. 67)
- Kings were supposed to write down a copy of it
(Deut. 1718, 19) - Priests and Levites to teach (Mal. 27)
13PURPOSE OF THE LAW
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3
- any great nation needs law (Gen. 123)
- law clarifies what sin is (Rom. 77)
- added to stifle transgression(Gal. 319)
- law shows mans need for grace(Rom. 323)
- to bring man to Christ (Gal. 324)
14Limitation of the Law
- does not justify
- Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to
Christ, that we might be justified by faith
(Gal. 324) - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no
flesh be justified in his sight for by the law
is the knowledge of sin (Rom. 320). - For what the law could not do in that it was
weak through the flesh, God did by sending His
own Son. . . (Rom. 83) - for the law made nothing perfect (Heb. 719)
15SIN
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3
- originated with Satan (Gen. 31ff Jn. 844)
- violates Gods Law (1 Jn. 34)
- unrighteousness (1 Jn. 517)
- begins in the heart (Matt. 1519, 20 528)
16SIN
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3
- rebellion against God
- committing what He forbids (1 Thess. 522)
- omitting what He requires (Jas. 417 Deut. 81,
11) - adding to what He authorizes (Deut. 42)
- subtracting from what He demands (ibid.)
- substituting mans ideas and machinery for Gods
- Davids new cart 1 Chron. 131-10 152, 12-15
17SIN-CURSED WORLD
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3
- Sin has turned this beautiful world into a
graveyard - Such is the real underlying reason for
degeneration, deterioration, disease death? - To those who deny the reality of sin
- where did the concept of sin originate from?
- where did death originate from?
18ONLY THE BIBLE
gives suitable answers
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered
the world, and death through sin, and thus death
spread to all men, because all sinned (Rom.
512)
19The Remedy? Jeremiah 3131-34
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4
31 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD,
when I will make a new covenant with the house of
Israel and with the house of Judah 32 "not
according to the covenant that I made with their
fathers in the day that I took them by the hand
to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My
covenant which they broke, though I was a husband
to them, says the LORD.

33 "But this is the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel after those days, says
the LORD I will put My law in their minds, and
write it on their hearts and I will be their
God, and they shall be My people. 34 "No more
shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man
his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for they
all shall know Me, from the least of them to the
greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will
forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will
remember no more."

21When Did He Make THE NEW COVENANT?
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4
- not at creation
- not on Mt. Sinai when they came out of Egypt
- not in Jeremiahs day

curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4 Christs ministry5
- O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me
from this body of death? (Rom. 724) - I thank Godthrough Jesus Christ our Lord!
(Rom. 725a)
23The Remedy is Jesus!
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4 Christs ministry5
There is therefore now no condemnation to those
who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk
according to the flesh, but according to the
Spirit (Rom. 81)
The PLACE is In Christ The WAY is according to
the Spirit
24Anticipating His Coming
- In your seed all the nations of the earth shall
be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice
(Gen. 2218)
ABRAHAM
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises
made. He does not say, And to seeds, as of
many, but as of one, And to your Seed, who is
Christ (Gal. 316)
25Anticipating His Coming
- But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you
are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to
be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from
of old, from everlasting (Mic. 52)
26What An Event His Advent Was!
- the Image-giver was born to the image-bearer
- Infinity came to the finite
- the Creator visited the creation
- the King became a pauper
- the Lion came as a lamb
27How is Jesus the Remedy?
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4 Christs ministry5
- by providing a payment to put away sins
- Hebrews 922, 26, 28, And according to the law
almost all things are purified with blood, and
without shedding of blood there is no remission.
. . . He then would have had to suffer often
since the foundation of the world but now, once
at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put
away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. . . . so
Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many.
To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear
a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
28How is Jesus the Remedy?
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4 Christs ministry5
- by providing a payment to put away sins
- by reconciling us to God, viz., turning away His
wrath (Rom. 56-11)
29Where is One Reconciled?
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4 Christs ministry5
- in the church that Jesus built with his blood
- Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the
flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you
overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He
purchased with His own blood (Acts 2028) - and that He might reconcile them both to God in
one body through the cross, thereby putting to
death the enmity (Eph. 216 note church is
body 122, 23)
30When is One Reconciled?
curse of sin1 promise to Abraham2 law of
Moses3 Messianic Promise4 Christs ministry5
- when he is baptized into Christ
- COMPARE
- 9Much more then, having now been justified by
His blood. . .10For if when we were enemies we
were reconciled to God through the death of His
Son. . . (Rom. 59, 10) - Or do you not know that as many of us as were
baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His
death? (Rom. 63)
- when he is baptized into Christ
- COMPARE
- 9Much more then, having now been justified by
His blood. . .10For if when we were enemies we
were reconciled to God through the death of His
Son. . . (Rom. 59, 10) - Or do you not know that as many of us as were
baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His
death? (Rom. 63)
31For through Him we both have access by one
Spirit to the Father (Eph. 218)
