Defensive Stunts

• Mad Blitz Mike Linebacker Aggressive path
  through either A Gap
• Dog Blitz Liz and/or Rip Aggressive path
  through either B or C Gap. Choose gap based
  on ability to get into backfield.
• Mad-Dog Blitz All Linebackers Aggressive path
  through A, B and or C gaps. Mike through
  A Liz/Rip through B or C on respective side.
  
• Cougar Blitz Cornerback Aggressive path into
  backfield maintain blitz depth (as deep as
  deepest offensive back).
• Razor/Lazor Slam Defensive EndsAggressive path
  into backfield maintain blitz depth (as deep as
  deepest offensive back).

Basic Roles

• Everyone Talk to each other. Yell run,
  pass, sweep, reverse, etc.
• Mike Call Defensive Strength make sure shifts
  are made twins and trips. Play aggressively
  vs. run always moving forward.
• Liz/Rip Play aggressively vs. run always
  moving forward. Liz/Rip cover TE or running back
  crossing face out of the backfield (pass).
• Lazor/Razor Contain, contain, contain. Read
  step 1 yard into backfield keep outside arm
  free and redirect any outside play back into the
  middle. Drop into shallow flats on pass play.
  Do not allow TE to release freely hit every
  play.
• Defensive Line Be quick into gaps one yard
  penetration into backfield and then find the
  ball. On pass playspursue quarterback with arms
  raisedyell pass.
• Cornerbacks Inside shade position. First step
  is back-read the receiver. If run, provide
  outside support. Be aggressive. If receiver
  goes into motionfollow.
• Free Safety Read run or pass stay deep on
  pass coverage. Pursue ball carrier once ball
  crosses the line of scrimmage. Watch motion and
  react to ball.

Twin/Trips Adjustments

• Twins (two receivers on one side)
• Cornerback covers outside receiver
• free safety adjusts to cover inside receiver
• Weak corner rotates to free safety position
• Trips (three receivers on one side)
• Cornerback covers outside receiver
• Free Safety covers middle receiver
• Rip or Liz covers inside receiver
• Weak Corner rotates to free safety position
