Mission

• Our mission is to be a strong, close air racing
  team supporting each other in all aspects
  including moral, and psychological, through
  training, providing equipment, finding sponsors,
  and camaraderie.

• Started in 1988.
• Experienced designing, building, flying and
  competing with RC gliders, airplanes, jets,
  helicopters, and sailboats.
• Combined aviation experience of almost 50 years.

Reno Air Races

• Run every year since 1964
• except for 2001 which was cancelled due to
  terrorist activity
• Draws fans and participants from all over the
  world
• Reno Air Racing Association is a non-profit
  organization dedicated to the preservation of air
  racing.

International Formula One Class

• In the early days of airshows the biggest
  attractions were the air racers.
• The racers of the day were outperforming the best
  the military had to offer.
• Aviation made tremendous strides in the early
  days of air racing.
• IF1 keeping that tradition alive oldest
  continuously operated airplane racing class

• Established in 1947 as an alternative to the
  (even then) outrageously expensive unlimited
  class, Formula One racers have been evolving for
  almost 50 years.
• Today, the top racers use NASA technology to
  reach top speeds approaching 300 mph on the same
  engine that powers a Cessna 150 to barely 100
  mph.
• International Formula One is without a doubt the
  most affordable form of world class motor racing.

Pilot Requirements

• Private Pilot License
• Current Medical Certificate (3rd class)
• 500 hours logged
• 10 hours in aircraft
• A valid IF1 Racing License

• Demonstrate the following
• Aborted Start
• Race Horse Start
• 3 turns of 60 degree bank w/o losing altitude
• Aileron roll to left, right, 1/2 left,right w/o
  losing more than 50 feet
• 3 laps on racecourse w/o climbing in turns

• Dive at 1.1 Max Speed
• 3 tight 180 turns w/o losing altitude or stalling
