    selected activities
  • Extend summer Honors program, etc.
  • II. Moderate Alteration of Requirements
  • Free up electives in Freshman year (reduce core
    Freshman hours)
  • Create elective sexy discipline-specific 100
level courses for each major following summer
    Honors model
  • Move discipline/major survey courses to 200
    level

Distribution Requirements
  • Elective Requirements
  • Freshmen must take x number of the nine areas,
and no more than two of their Freshman courses
may fall in the same area
  • Sophomores must take x number of courses in the
    nine areas
  • Juniors must take a GBS, IDS, and/or a Cultural
    Immersion Course (Language/Study Abroad)
  • Maturity Requirements
  • Distribution of core requirements over four
    years
  • Students must take x number of hours at the 300
and 200 levels outside of their majors and
    outside of other major requirements
  • Seniors may not take 100 level courses
  • Affinity Requirements
  • Students must take x number of hours in a related
(defined) area at the 200 level or above that do
    not meet major requirements
