Something To Think About!

• In order to further strengthen the church, Paul
  sent Timothy to oversee the work and establish a
  godly leadership. Though Timothy was well
  equipped for the task, he also experienced a
  unique advantage. As Pauls son in the faith,
  Timothy had the opportunity to solicit counsel
  from the apostle, who became the first missionary
  of the Christian church.

  this passage is demanded of those in spiritual
  leadership in the church does not mean these
  traits are not required of everyone. Name two
  traits in the list that could prove to be the
  most trouble for you. Confess your weaknesses to
  God in prayer. Ask Gods Spirit to strengthen you
  in those weaknesses.

• From Pauls words (and other passages in the
  Bible), we learn the seriousness surrounding
  being a minister of the gospel, namely those who
  lead the church. Such men who hold these offices
  need our prayers, help, and respect. How do you
  treat those in Christian leadership?

  Gods kingdomyou are on Gods team.

• 1. What does the term bishop mean? What is the
  difference between a bishop, elder, or pastor?
• 2. In what ways do the qualifications for pastors
  differ from the ones for deacons?
• 3. What is a novice? Why is it dangerous for a
  new Christian to become a bishop?
• 4. Why do you think the qualifications for church
  leaders are so high? Why is a leaders home life
  such a vital aspect of his ministry?
• 5. What is the reward for being a faithful
  deacon?
• 6. How does Paul describe the church in this
  passage? What does this description imply about
  the function of the church?
