Umpire
  • Umpire is known as Referee in baseball or in
    other sports.
  • Umpire is someone who has authority to make
    decisions.
  • There are total three Umpires in Cricket, two on
    cricket fields and one in the dressing room.
  • Umpires on cricket field take care of the couple
    of things like if the batsman is out, make
    decisions on the appeal made by bowlers or
    fielder and also keep the records of deliveries
    bowled by bowlers.
  • Third Umpire role is different. If on field
    umpires cant make decisions on something, then
    they can refer to third umpire for help. Third
    umpire will check the replay on TV and can make
    decisions easily.

  • 11 players per team
  • According to the rules, only 9 players stay
    inside the circle for first 15 over, the other 2
    can stay at the boundary.
  • One Wicketkeeper (Catcher) behind the wickets
    (Stumps).
  • Bowler (Pitcher) can bowl only 10 over per
    game.

  • Rolling shot (4 runs).
  • Home Run (6 runs).
  • Running between the wickets (1 runs).
  • No-Ball, Wide, Short Ball (1 runs).
  • Leg Byes (1 runs).
  • Getting Out
  • LBW (if ball hit the pad straight).
  • Bowled (if ball hit the wicket).
  • Caught ( if ball nick the edge of the bat ).
  • Run Out (Tagged).
  • Hit Wicket (if batsmen hit the wicket with his
    bat ).

Object Of Cricket
  • Outscore the opponent by scoring runs.
  • Taking wickets of the opponents team.
  • Protect your wickets.
  • Limit your opponents scoring.
  • Keep up the scoring average.
  • Object is to win the game.
