The Research Skills Programme (RSP)
  • Average of 5 days of training per academic year
    for full-time, non-funded students
  • Average of 10 days per academic year required for
    full-time students funded by Research Councils
    (AHRC, ESRC, etc)
  • Pro-rata basis for part-time students (minimum of
    2.5 days of training per year)

How do you meet your requirement
  • courses from the RSP organised centrally by the
    Graduate School
  • courses offered by your own department (providing
    they can be attended by students outside your
    department) or other departments within the
    College.
  • workshops and reading groups such as the HARC
    Graduate Reading Group in Critical Theory
  • on-line RSP Moodle courses 10 available at
    http//moodle.rhul.ac.uk
  • inSTIL teacher-training programme organised by
    Academic Development Services
  • opportunities outside Royal Holloway such as the
    training programme organised for postgraduate
    research students by St Georges, University of
    London (SGUL)

  • The programme is found on the Graduate School
    website http//www.rhul.ac.uk/Graduate-School/.
  • Click on Current Postgraduates
  • Click on Research Skills Programme and then
    Research Skills Programme at Royal Holloway
  • The courses are grouped under six themes
    Research Management and Critical Thinking,
    Entrepreneurship and Ethics, Career Development,
    Oral Communication, Written Communication,
    Information Technology

  • Click on the title of the course youre
    interested in
  • Click on the link Register for this course
  • Follow the guide to web registration via the
    student portal, Campus Connect.
  • If you have any problems logging into Campus
    Connect, email ITSupport_at_rhul.ac.uk
  • If you have any other problems with web
    registration email Graduate-School_at_rhul.ac.uk
  • If you need to cancel or change a booking please
    email Graduate-School_at_rhul.ac.uk
