- Please note These screenshots show that the
documents are signed by Lisa LaPlant. This is
for demo purposes only. The files you download
from GPO will be signed by Superintendent of
Documents, Judith C. Russell.
2When you use Adobe Acrobat 6.0 to open a test
file that was signed by GPO you will see this
dialog box. This is because the file was signed
using Adobe 7.0. Click on OK.
3The Document Status dialog box will provide
information about the authentication status of
the document. Click on Signature Properties.
4The Signature Properties dialog box provides
additional information about the digital
signature. The yellow yield sign with the
exclamation point alerts users to click on the
Show Certificate button for additional action.
Click on Show Certificate.
5The first Certificate Attributes dialog box
provides information about the digital
certificate that was issued to the document
signer. Click on Advanced Windows Details.
6The first Certificate dialog box provides
information about the digital certificate that
was issued to the document signer. Windows does
not have enough information to verify this
certificate. In order to verify this certificate
you will need to install the certificate. Click
on Install Certificate, and select the
following options Next, Automatically select
the certificate store based on the type of
certificate, Next, and Finish. Click OK in
the Certificate dialog box.
7Back in the first Certificate Attributes dialog
box, click on View Issuer Certificate
Information.
8The second Certificate Attributes dialog box
provides information about the digital
certificate that was issued to the GeoTrust CA
for Adobe. Click on Advanced Windows Details.
9The second Certificate dialog box provides
information about the digital certificate that
was issued to the GeoTrust CA for Adobe. Windows
does not have enough information to verify this
certificate. In order to verify this certificate
you will need to install the certificate. Click
on Install Certificate, and select the
following options Next, Automatically select
the certificate store based on the type of
certificate, Next, and Finish. Click OK in
the Certificate dialog box.
10Back in the second Certificate Attributes
dialog box, click on View Issuer Certificate
Information.
11The third Certificate Attributes dialog box
provides information about the digital
certificate that was issued to the Adobe Root CA.
Click on Advanced Windows Details.
12The third Certificate dialog box provides
information about the digital certificate that
was issued to the Adobe Root CA. The CA Root
certificate is not trusted. To enable trust,
install this certificate in the Trusted Root
Certification Authorities store. Click on
Install Certificate.
13Click on Yes.
14Click on OK.
15Right-click on the logo. Select Properties.
16Click on Show Certificate.
17Click on Advanced Windows Details.
18The General tab should contain this
information. Click on Certification Path.
19The Certification Path tab should contain this
information. Click OK.
