1Consuming Fire 2 of 4
welcome to community church

4Consuming Fire 2 of 4
We must understand that we pick and choose from
the Bible. We must understand how to read the
Bible correctly.
5Consuming Fire 2 of 4
6Consuming Fire 2 of 4
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your
kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it
is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we also have
forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.
7Consuming Fire 2 of 4
I believe The Bible to be the inspired, only
infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God.
8Consuming Fire 2 of 4
- Why dont we still
- Keep the Sabbath?
- Tithe?
- Wash one anothers feet?
- Give up all our possessions?
9Consuming Fire 2 of 4
- Wrong ways to read it
- Rulebook
- Blessings for today
- Me-centered
- System-centered
10Consuming Fire 2 of 4
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he
will guide you into all truth. - Jesus (John
16)
11Consuming Fire 2 of 4
I have much more to say to you, more than you can
now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth,
comes, he will guide you into all truth. -
Jesus (John 16)
12Consuming Fire 2 of 4
But I tell you the truth It is for your good
that I am going away. Unless I go away, the
Counselor will not come to you but if I go, I
will send him to you. - Jesus (John 16)
13Consuming Fire 2 of 4
Divorce. But I tell you that anyone who divorces
his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness,
causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone
who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
14Consuming Fire 2 of 4
Divorce. To the rest I say this (I, not the
Lord) If any brother has a wife who is not a
believer and she is willing to live with him, he
must not divorce her. And if a woman has a
husband who is not a believer and he is willing
to live with her, she must not divorce him. -
1 Cor. 7
15Consuming Fire 2 of 4
But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A
believing man or woman is not bound in such
circumstances God has called us to live in
peace. How do you know, wife, whether you will
save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband,
whether you will save your wife? - 1 Cor. 7
16Consuming Fire 2 of 4
Circumcision. My covenant in your flesh is to be
an everlasting covenant. - Gen. 17
17Consuming Fire 2 of 4
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that
counts is faith expressing itself through love.
- Gal. 56
18Consuming Fire 2 of 4
A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly,
nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.
No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly and
circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the
Spirit, not by the written code. - Rom. 2.28-29
19Consuming Fire 2 of 4
Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is
nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts.
- 1 Cor. 7.19
20Consuming Fire 2 of 4
In him you were also circumcised, in the putting
off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision
done by the hands of men but with the
circumcision done by Christ, having been buried
with him in baptism and raised with him through
your faith in the power of God, who raised him
from the dead. - Col. 2.11-12
21Consuming Fire 2 of 4
- How?
- Communicate often and effectively
- Recognize diversity as we seek unity
- Love Deeply
22Consuming Fire 2 of 4
Above all, love each other deeply, because love
covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 48
Most of all, love each other as if your life
depended on it. Love makes up for practically
anything.
23May the Lord bless you and keep you.Have a
great week.
