3What is the QCIA?
4Certificate overview
- The Queensland Certificate of Individualised
Achievement (QCIA) recognises the learning
achievements of students who undertake
individualised learning programs. - The QCIA is an official record that students
have completed at least 12 years of education.
5Certificate overview
- The certificate provides students with a summary
of their knowledge and skills that they may
present to employers or training providers. - The QCIA adds to the suite of certificates that
the QSA issues and ensures that the educational
achievement of all students can be recorded on a
quality certificate.
6Certificate title
- The certificate was formerly known as the
Certificate of Post-compulsory School Education
(CPCSE). - The title change recognises the focus on the
students individual achievement rather than the
post-compulsory phase of learning. -
7History of the certificate
- The certificate was first trialled in 2002.
- It was then implemented for all eligible students
in 2004. - 594 eligible students received the QCIA in 2008.
- It is expected that over 600 eligible students
will receive the certificate this year.
