Getting Here is Easy
  • Trains
  • From Edinburgh Waverley you can catch a train to
    almost anywhere in the UK (inc. London Kings X,
    Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, etc)
  • with either National Express Virgin or Scotrail
  • Coaches
  • National Express operate coaches throughout the
    country. They can sometimes be a cheaper way to
    travel than trains.
  • Plane
  • Edinburgh Airport operates both national and
    international flights. Many of the low cost
    airlines (Easyjet Ryan Air BMI) run from there
    and fly to destinations such as Amsterdam,
    Barcelona, as well as Ireland England. There is
    a 24 hour airport bus which leaves from Waverley
    station regularly and once the trams are finished
    there will be a direct tram link which will run
    to the airport also.

Frequent and Fast Transport to Our Front Door
  • Buses
  • The No. 30 bus stops on campus and will take you
    into the city centre in approx 30 mins, or into
    Musselburgh town centre, which is just a short
    walk away. The new No. 45 service operates to and
    from campus and peak times too.
  • Trains
  • A regular train service runs between Waverley
    station to Newcraighall station and Musselburgh
    station (which is virtually on campus) and from
    Haymarket (in the west end) to Newcraighall. The
    train will take you about 6-10mins.
  • Student Discounts on Travel
  • Lothian Buses offer a Young Student Ridacard
    which entitles you to unlimited travel on Lothian
    buses the card is for students between the ages
    of 16-25 and will cost you 29 per month.
  • You can also get a 16-25 railcard (previously
    young persons railcard) which entitles you to 1/3
    off all rail fares for 24 per year. If you are
    over 25 and in full time education you can also
    receive this discount.
