15
Current Events Magazine Update
  • The board acknowledges problems with timeliness
    of CE
  • And, have taken steps to resolve this situation
    by hiring external resources.
  • External resources now handle the publishing work
so the committee can focus on gathering and
    editing content.
  • The Jan/Feb issue was the first example of the
new process and timely. We expect to continue
    in this manner.

16
Publication Overview
  • Published 6 bi-monthly issues.
  • Mailed to 750 members and select advertisers.
  • Extras copies for back-issue purchase and
    distribution at select meetings.

EV Infrastructure Update
Tom Dowling Charging Infrastructure
Liaison charging_at_eaaev.org
22
Infrastructure Status
  • EV Charging infrastructure is alive and well.
  • Much progress in Northern California, especially.
  • A little progress in Southern California, and
    more is expected.
  • Georgia infrastructure will be dismantled later
this year, however. Arizona is dormant.
  • Funds from auto manufacturers are history.
  • Funds from air districts are drying up.
  • Funds from utilities are also drying up, although
we have recently received some funding from
Roseville Electric and from SMUD (Sacramento
    Municipal Utility District).
  • Its up to EV drivers now to support the
    infrastructure!!

23
Infrastructure Donations
  • See http//eaaev.org/eaadonations.html. We have
received quite a few donations from this source.
    We need more!
  • The EAA received a grant for about 3000 for
charging infrastructure in the San Jose area from
a members employer. The member did the legwork
to get the grant. We need to seek out more of
    these types of grants.
  • The EAA received a donation of 48,000 for
charging infrastructure support from an anonymous
EAA member! This was restricted to
    infrastructure in two Northern California
counties, to make trips to Tahoe and Reno
    possible.

24
Charging Information
  • www.evchargernews.com is not an official EAA
effort, but we welcome input from all EV drivers.
Gil Dawson of Los Angeles and I maintain this
    site.
  • Theres an emergency charging list for
residential locations where drivers have listed
availability to help each other out. Its part
    of www.evchargernews.com .
  • The EAA board encourages each chapter to create
its own emergency charging list, respecting
    privacy and members wishes.
