The Process

• Ocean carrier will transmit A6A (311) data at
  least 24 hours prior to lading. Conveyance data
  provided within 24 hours of departure of ship
• Transmission will indicate whether or not Freight
  Forwarder supplementary data will be provided
  i.e. ultimate consignee, precise description of
  goods, shipper, etc.
• Freight forwarder data to be provided must be at
  least 24 hours prior to lading
• If no freight forwarder data applicable, carrier
  must provide details
• Within 24 hours of estimated time of lading
  Carrier (and Freight forwarder, if applicable)
  will receive either
• No Load Message- Wait For Instructions From
  Foreign Agency
• No Load Message- Additional Detail Required
• Nothing- this means loading can proceed

  freight forwarders to supplement ocean carrier
  cargo transmission

• Original ACI model included importer data
  transmission with carrier/freight forwarder data
  will not proceed with this in the short term
