6NIAPS Application Details
- All applications listed are being evaluated for
deployment with the NIAPS 2.1 release unless
otherwise noted. - MFOM ATM Software Suite (Maintenance Figure of
Merit Afloat Toolbox for Maintenance) MFOM ATM
software suite is being patched into the current
NIAPS 1.2 build. It provides the integration of
shipboard maintenance applications into a common
database. The immediate release will include
Mission Readiness Assessment System (MRAS),
Electronic Departure from Specifications (EDFS),
Automated Work Notification (AWN), Afloat Toolbox
for Maintenance (ATM). This was sent in by Petter
Kristiansen of NAVSEA 05Z. - 2RI IETM Viewer The 2RI IETM Viewer is an
electronic version of a paper technical manual
for a piece of equipment, such as a Radar. The
application is not hosted and runs as a
stand-alone application on a client machine. The
application can either be run directly from the
CD or by copying the CD contents to a folder on
the client machine and running it from there. On
the NIAPS server in a shipboard environment, the
contents of the CD are imported into ATIS as a
Technical Manual. The Radar Technician uses a
client workstation to access the ATIS
application, search for the IETM, and launch the
IETM. This was sent in by Vangela Lynn of
NSWC-PHD, Virginia Beach Detachment. - Capabilities Limitations - Strike Group
Interoperability and Platform/Combat Systems
Capabilities and Limitations These give the
technical basis for tactical development and
system employment This was sent in by Gordon
Whitnall of NSWC-PHD. - Afloat Request Form Interface webform to submit
support requests from ship. This was sent in by
Julie Lawver of NAVSEALOGCEN Mechanicsburg. - AN/SPS-48G(V)1 3D Air Search Radar. This was
sent in by Mark Bonnett of NSWC-PHD of Virginia
Beach. - BCS DS-LMAIS (Bar Code Supply Distance Support
Logistics Maintenance Automated Information
System) Solution allows work to be moved ashore
(Maritime Shore Detachment) on the Littoral
Combat Ship (LCS). Creates the minimum supply
activities on the ship to be completed and
resulting work to complete ashore. This was sent
in by Ken Johnson of SPAWAR System Center in
Norfolk. - CBR OSIMS (Chemical, Biological and Radiological
Operating Space Item Management System)
Chemical, Biological and Radiological Operating
Space Item Management System (CBR OSIMS) CBR
OSIMS is best described as a fully functional
web-based application reachable from any
Internet enabled Personal Computer (PC), used
primarily for asset visibility and to accumulate
and track Individual Protective Equipment (IPE)
and other related Chemical, Biological, and
Radiological equipment for the annual
Congressional rollup data call. This was sent in
by Jack Racey of NAVSEALOGCEN of Indian Head.
7NIAPS Application Details (Contd)
- CHIT The Content Health Indicator Tool shows
the status of several applications residing on
ships. This was sent in by Saboor Khan of
Distance Support, NSWC Crane, Indiana. - EFSM (Electronic Food Service Module)
Application centered around Services Logistics.
All commodities under sincle management
standardizing on integrated logistics systems and
processes. Performing all receipts, issues,
stows, and offloads. Manage all material using
velocity, shelf life, and stock rotation
beginning with the Food Service Proccess,
vectoring out to Medical, Dental, and ROM.
Springboard to moving afloat functions ashore
reducing manpower on board afloat units. This was
sent in by Dennis Yara of NAVSISA, Pearl Harbor. - IBS (Integrated Barcode System) Integrated
Barcode System (IBS) provides barcode reading,
report, and data management for use in receiving,
physical inventory, and location audit functions.
This was sent in by Charles Bondi of NAVSUP. - KP (Knowledge Presenter) Knowledge Presenter
allows developers the opportunity to develop
fully interactive SCORM compliant e-learning
lessons, from software simulations, multiple
choice quizzes, through to fully synchronized
multimedia presentations, with no programming,
and no plugins required. Lessons or presentations
play back natively in a browser. This was sent in
by Patricia Sullivan of Center for Surface Combat
Systems. - LOGCOP (Logistics Common Operating Picture)
Logisitics Common Operating Picture (LOGCOP)
provides near real-time comprehensive logistics
information to combatant commanders and other
warfighters and decision makers. LOGCOP,
currently in the RD phase, is not complete so
initial inclusion on the NIAPS server would only
involve a subset of the total planned
functionality such as data services, business
services, and user facing services. Additionally,
LogCOP relies on local access to ship logistics,
maintenance, and supply data ashore and afloat.
LOGCOP requires the file-based replication
services that NIAPS provides as the distance
support vehicle for the fleet and looks forward
to the addition of transactional replication
capabilities as well. This was sent in by Lee
Parker of PEO C41 Space, PMW-150. This is a
pilot program and has not been actively pursued.
Awaiting further direction and details from
application owner. - NQS (Naval Query Service) The Naval Query
Service is a web service that provides a dynamic
interface into existing data sources. This was
sent in by Jody Stearns of SPAWARSYSCEN of
Norfolk. This is a pilot program and has not been
actively pursued. Awaiting further direction and
details from application owner.
