Dr. Seuss was born in Massachusetts on March 2,
1904. He was named Theodor Seuss Geisel. He is
the author and illustrator of many childrens
books. His first book was And To Think I Saw It
on Mulberry Street. Dr. Seuss writes all of
his books in rhyme. This means that he uses many
words whose endings sound the same. He also
likes to make up nonsense words. These are words
that we have never heard before. Dr. Seuss
books are fun to read. You can find his books in
the Seuss section or under Giesel.

20JAN BRETT
Jan Brett was born in
Massachusetts on December 1, 1949. She often
read books, drew horses and played with her many
pets as a child. As an adult, Jan continues to
have many pets. She enjoys drawing them and
making them a part of her books. She also
travels extensively and uses these trip images in
her illustrations. Writing the book is much
harder for Jan to do, even though she uses
experiences from her life. Her book themes often
have to do with change. She shows much detail in
her drawings. It takes her one hour to draw an
inch of a picture. She is known for her detailed
borders that often give the reader clues as to
what will happen next. Jan Brett still lives in
Massachusetts with her musician husband and
daughter.

32THE MAGIC FINGER
Project report by Jack
This book is about a girl who when she gets mad
and sees red, points her finger at the people and
changes them.
She changed her teacher into a cat because she
called her stupid when she spelled cat wrong.
She changed the Gregg family into ducks when she
got mad at them for hunting deer and ducks. She
turned the ducks into people to teach them a
lesson.

THE BIG FRIENDLY GIANT
The story I read by Roald Dahl is called The
BFG.BFG stands for Big Friendly Giant. The story
begins when the BFG takes an orphan girl named
Sophie from her bed at night because she is the
only human that has ever seen him.
The BFG lives in Giant country with 9 other
giants. The BFG spends his nights blowing good
dreams into the windows of sleeping girls and
boys. The other 9 giants travel all over the
world every night eating people,especially
children. Sophie and the BFG come up with a plan
to stop the giants from eating people. They even
get help from the Queen of England and her army.
I liked this story because it had a lot of funny
words like phizzwizard. The giants names were
funny but gross. The story was so funny I
couldnt stop reading it.
