Uniform Policy
ALL STAFF TO COMPLY
Hair Natural shade, neat and tidy, worn above
collar and off face. Minimal hair accessories.
Trust Uniforms MUST NOT be worn whilst shopping
Make-up kept to a minimum and natural.
Jewellery NO neck chains except for
cultural/religious/ medical alert reasons. One
Wedding ring and one discreet pair of plain stud
type earrings no gems and no sleepers. Facial
piercings must be removed whilst on duty. Tongue
piercings are not permitted.
Badges A K.G.H. name and identification badge
with photo must be visible to all contacts and
worn at all times when working I.e. including
study days and when not in uniform. Two other
professional badges may be worn.
Cardigans/jumpers to blend with colour of the
uniform. Should not be worn for clinical duties.
Clothing/ uniform as supplied by departmental
manager. Dresses below knee length. it should
only be worn to and from work and completely
covered up appropriately.
Belts optional, should be removed when
handling patients. Petersham for belts from
sewing room.
Nails short and well trimmed. NO nail varnish
or extensions
Socks worn with trousers and blend with uniform
colour. Tights plain black, navy, brown or skin
coloured which may be removed in hot weather.
Shoes soft soled, black or navy, stable based
(no heels). Clogs must not be worn on the ward
areas.
Laundry minimum of 65oC as an infection control
measure. Uniform is to be kept in a clean and
acceptable condition.
