What is it?
  • A program designed to enable qualifying patients
    to obtain free or low cost medications directly
    from drug companies

Serves over 10,000 of our patients
  • In 2003 over 12,000 prescriptions were processed
  • 1.5 million in value

  • Provide CARES program to users
  • Maintain Database Upgrades
  • Clearinghouse for all medications that arrive
    then sort and make available to all Physicians
    and their respective service areas
  • Provide No Clinic List for medications with
    unknown origin or final delivery point to all
    Case Managers and Social Service workers
  • Notify Social Service Department when medications
    arrive and are ready for the patient to pick up

Patient
  • Responsible for providing information as required
    by drug companies
  • After receiving notification that their
    medication has arrived, they must insure timely
    response to pick them up from the clinic
  • All questions by patients must be directed
    towards their Case Manager or Social Service
    Worker
