Title: How to make up your own

1
  • How to make up your own Millionnaire game using
    the Powerpoint template supplied
  • Open PowerPoint, then use File/Open to find
    millionnaire in P\MFL\French.
  • Use File/Save As to give your new creation a
name, and to place it in a suitable folder.
    (Save frequently from now on!)
  • Decide on the total number of questions in your
quiz and, by copy/pasting and moving files in
Slide Sorter view, arrive at a randomised
    answer sequence.

To copy/paste a slide, simply right-click on it
and select Copy from the menu which appears. Now
move your cursor to the place where you want your
new slide to appear, then right-click and select
Paste. To move slides (so that the answer
sequence is not a straightforward rotation of A,
then B, then C, then D!) just left-click on a
slide and, with the left mouse button depressed,
drag it to a new position and release.
  • Now double-click on Slide 2 to begin entering
your questions and answers. The screen display
will change from Slide Sorter view to Slide View,
    as pictured below.
  • Double-click anywhere on the lettering of the
word Question and it will automatically be
highlighted. Now you can begin to type, and your
own text will take the place of the word
Question while retaining the same Font Size and
    Font Colour.
  • Repeat this process for each of the four answers
(taking special care, of course, to type the
correct answer in place of the word Correct!).
Dont worry about the yellow/green background to
the correct answer - during the showing of the
quiz, this only appears when you finally wish to
    reveal the answer.
  • Now move on to Slide 3 by clicking on the
downward pointing double arrow in the bottom
right-hand corner of the screen. Enter text as
    before.
  • When you have finished entering all your
questions and answers, return to Slide 1 (the
title page) by dragging the slider bar
(right-hand side of screen) back to the top. If
you forget to do this, you will find that your
Slide Show will not start at the beginning, but
will start with the slide which you have been
    modifying.
  • Now view your masterpiece in Slide Show mode.
This is accessed by clicking on the Slide Show
icon which is near the bottom-left corner of the
screen. The show now proceeds, on mouse-click,
either until it reaches the end, or until you
press the Esc button on your keyboard.
  • Have fun with this, and do share your work
    with colleagues!
  • RB
  • P.S. Im afraid I couldnt reproduce everything
exactly as it happens on TV. Normally, of
course, the candidates chosen final answer
lights up on the screen, and we all wait with
bated breath to see what the correct answer is!
I thought long and hard about how I might achieve
this effect, but decided, in the end, that it was
    simply beyond my limited capabilities!
  • You will also note that, after the flashing
correct answer sequence, the relevant box is
surrounded by a golden rectangle rather than
being statically highlighted in green as on TV.
This is deliberate, as I find that it allows the
white text of the correct answer to be more
    easily read - so there!
