  Dental Journal.

DOES CPD IMPROVE PERFORMANCE?

• A small number of dental studies suggest YES
• e.g. Bullock et al. 1999, McGlone et al. 2001.
• Need for more and bigger studies.
• Is CPD professional Viagra?

EVIDENCE FOR INFLUENCE ON OUTCOMES IN UK

• Effects of changes in regulations and fee scale
  have historically had major impacts.
• Evidence from Dental Practice Board (the central
  organisation which has paid dentists NHS fees
  since 1948).
• But what about the influence of CPD???
