Title: 20 visitors since January 2004 6 long term

1
Visitor Program
  • 20 visitors since January 2004 (6 long term)
  • Visitors give talks, often jointly supported
    with other departments and groups
  • Visiting researchers also meet with students and
    postdocs, and on collaborative research
    projects

Summer 2006 Left Jeanlex de Souza, from
University of Fortaleza, Brazil, is presently
doing research on the simulation of the
electronic properties of Si and SiGe nanocrystals
embedded in SiO2. Dr. Souza and Professor
Jean-Pierre LeBurton are developing a larger
proposal for an exchange program between the
University of Illinois and the University of
Fortaleza on the simulation of nanocrystals.
Right Ivo Souza, from UC Berkeley, meets with
postdoctoral researchers in David Ceperleys
group, Simone Chiesa and Michele Casula.
