Abstract Neutron beams readily penetrate many
materials that are opaque to other probes. This
opens up a wide range of design options for
sample environment equipment. Here we
highlight some of the materials used for both
in-the-beam and out-of-beam components. The
present examples are but the tip of the iceberg
in terms of the overall possibilities.
