ChRIS
  • ChRIS is an ICT based system to identify,
    register, count and monitor every marriage,
    pregnancy child birth
  • Information on all marriages, pregnancies,
    deliveries, ante post natal care, inoculations,
    proper growth elementary education of the child
    in public domain on real time basis residing on
    the portal

  • Poor monitoring on developmental parameters
  • Individual beneficiaries could not be monitored
  • No effort to integrate data collected by
    different agencies leading to faulty
    implementation of various schemes
  • No mechanism in place to check it and ensure

    come in its ambit

    was already in place at Block level

    new infrastructure

    Implementation)

Technology
  • Data is displayed in Unicode format
  • ASP.Net 2.0 is used for developing the website
    with SQL Server 2005 as back end.
  • The application software for collecting data from
    blocks is developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as
    front end and MS Access as back end
  • Many Govt. applications are running in the same
    environment. So no additional cost for
    implementation

Use of Hindi
  • The system is designed and implemented in Hindi
    only. Website and offline software is in Hindi,
    so it reaches the masses easily
  • The interface for offline software is also in
    Hindi
  • More than 150 various MIS reports are generated
    in Hindi for monitoring purposes
  • The English version of the site will also be
    available soon

  • ChRIS is an effective tool to create a
    comprehensive database of all its future citizens
  • Effective monitoring of Important health
    parameters like MMR, IMR, child marriages, female
    infanticide, etc.
  • Effective monitoring of implementation of
    government schemes
  • Growth charts for every live birth are documented
  • Number of reports are being generated and are of
    very important use to government at all levels
  • Makes it easy task for ground level workers
  • Reduces the amount of paper work and the number
    of registers which has to be maintained
