Perseus

• Son of Zeus and Danaë, a beautiful princess.

Perseus
His mother, Danaës father is forewarned that
Perseus will one day kill him. Her father locks
them both in a trunk and sets them out at sea.

Perseus

• Perseus and his mother survive being thrown out
  to sea, and wash up at a kind fishermans house.
• The fishermans brother,
• a cruel ruler, wants Danaë
• for himself,
• so he tells Perseus
• to go kill Medusa (impossible).

Perseus

• The gods favor Perseus, as he is the son of Zeus.
  They give him a mirrored shield, sandals with
  wings, and information on the ones who know how
  to kill Medusa.

• Perseus defeats Medusa by viewing her in a
  mirror, while chopping off her head and putting
  it in a magical wallet he was given.

Andromeda

• Andromeda was a princess, the daughter of
  Cassiopeia. Her mother had offended the gods, and
  for this she was to be punished. Luckily, Perseus
  found her before death and saved her.

• On the way back (flying using Hermes flying
  sandals) he sees Andromeda about to be killed for
  offending the gods. He saves her and claims her
  as his wife.

• The prophecy that he would kill Danaës father
  was true. He was participating in a
  discus-throwing competition when he hit a
  spectator, killing him. (His grandfather,
  unbeknownst to him)

Oracle at Delphi

• The oracle at Delphi was a priestess of Apollo.
  She always gives people their grim future, and it
  is always accurate.

• Athens greatest hero
• Son of Aegeus, the king. (But does not live with
  him, but rather his mother)

• Aegeus left him
• sandals and a sword
• under a rock, and
• tells him to come to
• Athens once he
• can retrieve them.

• Theseus comes of age, and is able to move the
  large boulder, so he walks to Athens.
• On the way, he has to fend off many bandits. He
  gives them a taste of their own medicine.

(They looked something like this)

• Once he arrives in Athens (after growing in
  strength so much), his father doesnt recognize
  him.

• Medea (yes, the one from the Argonauts) tries to
  convince his father to kill him.
• The sword is what helps his father recognize him.
