Title: Microscope-integrated Micromanipulator based on Multiple VCSEL Traps

1
Microscope-integrated Micromanipulator based on
Multiple VCSEL Traps
  • Build an optically actuated scanning optical
    microscope
  • That can be powered up with a VCSEL array and
with a large number of microlenses for
    parallelism
  • Where each microlens can be controlled
independently in 3D for enhancing resolution at
    points of interest
  • The microscope stage neednt to be moved so that
the influence of the background flow on
    microlenses are minimized
  • Individually manipulate microparticles, such as
    cells, etc.

Three yeast cells are collected by a single VCSEL
tweezers and form a predefined pattern trapped by
a VCSEL tweezers array. The cell group is
transported by agile VCSEL tweezers array, and
disbanded by the single VCSEL tweezers.
Experimental setup of microscope-integrated
multiple VCSEL micromanipulator.
Counter-clockwise rotation of a PC-12 cell with
double VCSEL traps.
