energising one house or to run one car or any
corresponding vehicle for a given period of time
  • While it may not totally replace any other form
of energy source, it can be a good substitute in
    remote locations

4
Resource development Short list species for
propagation and use Pongemia Mahua Neem Jatrop
ha These are naturally occurring in forest and
other lands privately owned and common
lands These species are suitable for dry areas
5
Resource development Annual productivity of these
species Pongemia 25 40 Kg per tree 7-8
years Mahua 30-40 Kg per tree 10-15
years Neem 10-15 Kg per tree 10
years Jatropha 5 - 10 Kg per tree 3-5
years There is need for research to enhance
yields and shorten the gestation period Tree
breeding Vegetative propagation grafting,
tissue culture Package of practices for higher
yields
