Course Description and Objectives

• Examines the theories and models in economics and
  finance and applies them to the Canadian
  financial industry. Specifically
• To examine the role and functions of the main
  financial institutions and financial markets.
• To identify and explain the financial instruments
  in the Canadian financial industry
• Provide an introduction to monetary economics,
  international economics and international
  finance

• Two individual assignments each worth 15 of
  the final mark.
• Assignment 1 due October 9th.
• Assignment 2 due November 27th.
