WHAT IS LAMS?

• Learning Activity Management System
• Developed in Australia at Macquarie University by
  Prof James Dalziel
• Limitations of monolothic VLEs
• Transmission model
• Content v Process view of education
• Vendors confident sector not looking for changes
• Showcased in February 2003
• Trialled (with DfES support) in May 2003
• JISC project began September 2004
• LAMS became OpenSource Feb 2005
