• And if it is the will of God that you should
  suffer, it is better to suffer for doing right
  than for doing wrong.

1st Reading

• Philip went to preach the gospel to the people of
  Samaria, who were regarded as heretics. The
  Samaritans eagerly accepted the teachings of
  Jesus Christ. The apostles heard this and sent
  Peter and John to pray for them to receive the
  Spirit, too.

2nd reading

• The Spirit of Truth may not be accepted by all,
  and many suffer because of their beliefs.
  However, it is better to suffer as Jesus did
  for truth and good deeds rather suffer evil ones.
  If we love Jesus, we will obey His commands.

Gospel

• Jesus tells us that if we love Him, we shall
  follow His commandments.
• Moreover, He would not leave us orphans but
  instead would sent the Holy Spirit who would
  console and guide us.

• Sign of our love and adherence to Jesus is to
  follow His commands.
• However, this might bring us suffering and
  rejection from others.
• But let us not be afraid for the Holy Spirit will
  console and protect us.
