Why an SRB test service?

• To enable research organisations, collaborations
  and individuals to play with the SRB in order
  to evaluate and gain experience
• To provide technical support for the community as
  users begin to try the SRB
• with the expectation that users will then be
  able to either run their own system or apply to
  use a professional service such as that on the NGS

What will the NIEeS SRB test service offer?

• Fully functioning SRB with a single zone (one
  MCAT server) and several vaults
• MySRB and TobysSRB web interfaces Scommands on
  our cluster nodes
• Technical support for users (subject to staff
  availability)
• Help with exemplar applications (eg running
  within a grid computing environment on the NIEeS
  clusters, or metadata tools) and test projects
• BUT, not a production service so no backups, no
  data protection, no guarantees!

How will people be able to access the NIEeS SRB
test service?

• Users apply for an SRB account, accounts on our
  cluster nodes, and a digital certificate, but
  there will be no formal application procedure
• We may need you to sign something
• We will provide access to information and
  demonstrations
• We will gladly receive questions or requests for
  help by email
• Our web site will advertise this shortly, and
  will provide documentation
