Mallory Castle Economic Impact
  • Although projections for economic impact have yet
to be determined it is expected to be several
million dollars per year with the addition of
more than 15 new businesses and expansion of the
taxable base to Lucas County and surrounding
areas. This project will have a financial benefit
to every single business that is currently
located or tentatively scheduled to be located
    here in the future.
  • Vision Iowa CAT program will finance between
25-50 of the total cost of the project. A 25
in-kind match can be considered along with their
contribution. City and or County revenue
projections can be used to bond a portion of
their match and stretched out over a ten-year
time frame. The rest of the match will come from
private, corporate, foundation or other grant
    sources.
  • This will be the single largest project any
community our size has ever undertaken, but the
support for this project to date has been
    absolutely overwhelming. The destruction of
Mallory Castle was without a doubt the most
regrettable event in County history. When
completed, the project is expected to be one of
the top attractions in the State of Iowa.
