- Grand Opening 1Feb 05
- Purpose 24/7 hub for information, referral and
tracking - Central resource for DS3, M4L, Palace HART, and
Navy - Case management system
- Advocacy hospitalization, employment, education,
retraining, rehabilitation, discharge, family
support, CONUS air travel (TSA) - Service Reps Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air
Force, and Coast Guard - Primary Liaison between Center and Service
program - Work Service-specific issues
- Caseworker staff
- Care managers and Counselor advocates (RNs or
Masters-Level Social Workers with disability
experience) - Provide Military OneSource experience,
professionalism and expertise - Federal Agency Partners include DOL, VA, TSA
assigned to the Center

- Employment covers 2 of 9 Working Groups at the
MSI Center - Employment Working Group includes representatives
of the Services, VA, DOL, WRAMC - Goal Recruit public and private employers and
place severely injured Service members (and their
caregivers)in appropriate education, training and
careers. - Recently augmented the permanent employment
services with Operation Warfighter - that
provides temporary placement in Federal agencies
for service members in Medical Hold. - Â

- MSICenter employment staff includes 3 DoL/
Realifelines employment experts and 1 VA detailee
- Coordinating with One-Stop Centers and state
DoL-Vets - 1234 SM w/active issues
- 151 have been identified as having employment
needs - 44 are currently being assisted
- (9 of those are Mothers/fathers/spouses)
- 36 have been employed
- 76 chose education, remained on AD, turned out
to be not ready, etc

- To support direct services
- Military.com provides military.com/support
website with Corporate and government jobs - 40 go to employers have committed to be
responsive to candidates, including specific
locations - Federal government and corporate career
networking fairs have been held at WRAMC and at
Ft. Sam Houston - Fairs are being planned at Ft. Hood and FT. Bragg
in Dec. - Other fairs will be held in 06

Bottomline Centers role is to expedite
processes, help families, and alleviate
complicated road blocks for severely
injured. Center cannot fix all processes and
problems but can be advocates for the severely
injured.

- Remove Barriers to advancement
- State Liaison Office is advocating for national
passport certifications - teaching and real
estate present initial opportunities - Build relationships with corporate partners who
provide portable skills e.g. computer
technicians/Cisco etc.

- 2. Raise awareness around benefits of spouse
employee pool - Established new web portal Military Spouse
Career Center www.military.com/spouse - Launched April 4, 2005 provides a unified site,
easy to navigate - Connects and highlights spouse programs in the
services and at installations

- Expands Opportunity for Military Spouses
- By joining with the power of Monster, Inc and
its military.com division that already had
200,000 military spouses signed up and - linking them to BOTH Corporate America and
Government jobs (USAJobs) - Some statistics from the new site
- 60 Military spouse-friendly companies have
signed-up - Since April there over 1 million job searches
have been conducted and September attracted over
93,000 unique visitors. Each month more unique
visitors have used the site - posted over 310,000 job applications in August
- an average of 10,000 are posting views to the
discussion boards monthly and - over 409,000 page views in the discussion boards

- Three important new features are being added next
week - Spouses will be able to search jobs by
installation without knowing the names of nearby
towns/suburbs - Employers will be able to post to this database
without posting to Monster (at no cost) - Employers will be able to conduct spouse-only
searches through the Career Center database (even
if they are regular Monster customers).
