  • Prepare car by checking fluid levels, lights, and
    tires

  • How are you going to get there?
  • Direct route or scenic route
  • What towns am I going through
  • Where am I going to stay?
  • Have I had enough sleep?
  • Do I have enough money?
  • Prepare the car more thoroughly
  • check brakes, exhaust, tires, belts, hoses, etc.

Loading and Driving with Trailer
  • Vehicles are limited to amount of weight they can
    pull
  • May need heavy duty equipment on car
  • You need hitch and safety chains
  • Packing your trailer
  • car must support 10 - 15 of trailer load
  • Load heaviest items at bottom
  • 60 weight in front half of trailer, even from
    side to side
  • Bottom of vehicle and trailer should be even

  • Need more gap, due to length and weight

  • Back slowly with someone to guide you

  • When passing it is going to take longer

  • Be careful when being overtaken
  • big trucks can cause a gust of air and make your
    trailer sway
  • If traffic is piling up, pull off to the side of
    the road
  • Slowing and stopping take extra car
  • if trailer does not have brakes, if you stop
    suddenly the trailer could swing around the car
  • Make sure you practice before tackling heavy
    traffic

  • wind is a big problem
  • know how high it is for low bridges
  • know the weight for bridge limits
  • Protect other motorists by giving bigger margins
    of space
  • Protect your self by getting plenty of rest

  • Study wisely, Read on section at a time, study
    with someone else, take sample tests
  • Get a good nights sleep and plenty to eat and
    drink
  • Take necessary papers, birth certificate, social
    security card, parent
  • Remain calm, read questions carefully, skip and
    come back to tougher questions

  • Know what you are doing
  • Practice in the vehicle you are going to use
  • Be alert for signs
  • Practice parking, starting and stopping,
    signaling, etc.
  • Get good nights sleep and eat well
  • Take what you need

    going to use
  • Clean windows, interior, mirrors, lights, enough
    fuel
  • remove all loose items in the car
  • make sure seatbelts work

  • Adjust seat, mirrors, etc
  • Concentrate on what you are doing
  • Listen carefully to examiners instructions
  • Dont chat with the examiner during test, but
    dont be afraid to ask questions
  • Dont worry about what examiner is writing
  • Stay calm, admit your nervous, have a positive
    attitude, breathe deeply
  • Exercise good judgement
