Student Schedules

• Students take four 90 minute courses per
  semester, eight courses total for the year
• OR five courses (with two being 45 minutes year
  long courses, equal to one unit of credit)
• Students should take at least four academic
  (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) courses
  per year

• Other Electives 10 units

Earn a minimum of 28 credits to graduate. Must
earn 8 semesters of residency by passing at least
two courses per semester.

Standards

• Students who enter ninth grade for the first time
  in the 2006-2007 school year and are following
  the career preparation, college technical
  preparation, or college/university preparation
  course of study must achieve a minimum of level 3
  or above on the end-of-course tests for English
  I, Algebra I, Civics and Economics, Biology, and
  US History.

  Skills
• Must pass Reading Math Competency if
• Level I or II achieved on 8th grade EOG
• (Must achieve Level III or IV on English 9
• and Algebra 1 EOCs)
• Must pass 5 EOCs with a level III or higher
  English I, Algebra I, Civics and Economics, US
  History, and Biology.
• Must take the 10th grade State Writing Test
• Must pass the High School Comprehensive Reading
  and Math Tests

Important Points to Ponder

• Students Choosing the College University Prep
  course of study must earn at least two credits of
  the same foreign language to earn a diploma.
• Levels I and II of the foreign language should be
  taken in the same year.
• Students choosing the College University Prep
  course of study may elect to complete a pathway
  in order to fulfill the requirements of the
  College Tech Prep course of study, and assure
  graduation.

• Changing the course of study or the pathway after
  the sophomore year could result in extra time
  spent in high school!

Honors Level Courses

• Honors Courses are specifically designed to
  provide intense, disciplined study for advanced
  college bound students. (9-12)
• Humanities Courses designed to provide intense,
  disciplined study for advanced college bound
  students who have been identified as AG. (9-12)
• Advanced Placement Courses are equivalent to
  college level courses, prepare students to take
  Advanced Placement examinations. Many colleges
  award college credit for high scores (typically 4
  or 5) on these AP tests.

  Senior
