EU Directive about Assessment and Managment of
Environmental Noise

• Objectives are defined on Article 1
• 1. The current directive has the main aim of
  establishing a common planning to avoid, prevent
  or reduce the effects of environmental noise
  exposure on human health, which consists of
• a) Evaluation of noise in member states based on
  common methods.
• b) Information to people about environmental
  noise and its effects.
• 2. Measures to reduce noise will be taken when it
  is necessary, as well as to keep quality of the
  acoustic environment when this is satisfactory.

• Article 9 talks about how to get people informed.
  
• Member states will take the necessary actions to
  guarantee that noise maps are published in
  Internet or any other on-line communication
  system two months after having been approved by
  the competent authority.

  account.
