13Conclusion
- Based on a preliminary review of
- selected available data relevant to
- advising, we acknowledge that
- advising is complex and one size
- does not fit all. We recommend the
- creation of a task force on advising
- from a faculty perspective to engage
- in dialogue with students, APSCUF,
- management, and the larger faculty
- to determine best practices,
- implement, and conduct ongoing
- assessment.
14RECOMMENDATIONS
- Appoint an on-going Task Force on Academic
Advising (2 year term) - The task force will be charged with the planning
and implementing a Flowchart of Assessment in
Academic Advising
15RECOMMENDATIONS contd.
- Membership of the Task Force would include
- - all the current members of the Strategic
Study Group on Academic Advising Faculty
Perspectives - - representation from the Strategic Study
Group on Academic Advising Student
Perspectives - - plus three new student members
(undergraduate, graduate, nontraditional) - - one APSCUF leadership representative.
