  • Meet Your Cart

The Cart
  • Each cart holds 10 iBooks. There are
    compartments and slots for all the components.

Charging iBooks
  • Each iBook has its own power source. Green lights
    mean fully charged. Orange lights mean charging.
    The cart must be plugged into the wall.

  • A charged iBook laptop can be used anywhere for
    about four hours without recharging.

  • Each iBook has all district software loaded on
    it.

  • An iBook has a track mouse. It works well to
    track with your index and click with your thumb.

  • The CD drive tray is opened by pressing the F12

  • The iBooks are wireless because the airport base
    station is connected to an ethernet drop. Each
    cart has an airport base station.

Projector
  • Each cart has a projector. The projector can
    connect to any iBook.

  • The small white adapter (dongle) connects to the
    projector cable and then to the iBook.

  • Power the projector on by pressing the red button
    once. Press it twice to power off.

The Scanner
Launch Graphic Converter to start scanning.
  • The scanner comes with cables and a software CD.
    There is no need to load the software. It is
    already on the iBook.

  • Each cart has a scanner. The scanner connects to
    the iBook and needs no other power source.

  • The scanner is packaged locked to keep its
    components safe. The lock is on the bottom side
    of the scanner. Unlock it before use.

    to place a picture to scan.

  • Each cart has one CD burner. The burner connects
    to the iBook via a firewire cable. Insert a blank
    CD to launch the process for burning.

  • Each cart has a videocamcorder. There is also an
    extra floating videocamcorder provided.

External Floppy Drive
  • Each cart has an external floppy drive to be
    shared by the iBooks. (The most efficient way to
    save work is on the district servers.)

Cart Check Out and Use
  • Some campuses are using a notebook for checkout.
    Others use a calendar. Be flexible in scheduling
    blocks for optimum use.

  • There is a Lexmark 520n printer on each cart.
    Each printer can be set up to be accessed by any
    of the iBooks.
