Library Program - Partnering with State Libraries
- Goal If you can get to a public library, you
can get to the Internet - 46,000 PCs distributed to 11,000 libraries in the
U.S. and Canada - Targeted libraries serving less affluent
communities
3The Gates Program in Wisconsin
- In 2003, 51 of WI public libraries received 681
GLCs 58 libraries received servers - Seven libraries received training labs
- Over 3.1 million in hardware and software
- In 2004-06, DLTCL received 286,850 for staff
training - 85 allocated to library systems

- GLCs now distributed to all states concerns
about sustainability - WebJunction designed to help address this

I did need to speak with our technical support
for the network to know how to remove the
Centurion guard hardware and re-insert. I had not
removed this piece of hardware prior to this
experience.
