9Cambridgeshire Safety Camera Partnership
If a child on foot is hit by a vehicle travelling
at 35mph, they are more than twice as likely to
die than if they were hit at 30mph. Staying well
within speed limits is therefore essential for
the safety of children who are walking and
cycling.
10How fast were cars travelling?
UK Department for Transport If you hit a
pedestrian while driving at 40mph the
pedestrians chance of dying is 90
11School Transport Policy
- Is a policy framework
- Isnt legally binding
- Is outdated for todays society
- It clearly needs looking at, and the one size
fits all situations isnt working. We need to be
able to adapt to differing situations. - Conservative councils are already setting a
clear path towards a new generation of school
transport services
12The white elephant!
- At no stage were Fordhams residents asked a very
important question
Would you prefer a free school bus, or a very
expensive bridge which nobody uses?
13The County say its safe
14Do you think its safe?
